It’s Chico Time with Zingo Bingo

This month, we’ve hopped into our time machine and looked back on a very specific moment in Pop Culture.

It’s the end of 2005 and the X Factor, Simon Cowell’s reality singing competition is in it’s second series. Quite frankly, it was the biggest thing on TV, bringing in viewing figures between eight to ten million every Saturday night.

Despite not winning the competition, the undisputed star of the series was an ex-stripper from Morocco who grew up herding goats. His name was Chico Slimani.

Chico was eliminated from the show at the quater-final stages, but he was the first contestant to perform an original composition ‘It’s Chico Time’, which soared to the top of the UK and Irish singles chat when it was released in February 2006.

The song knocked Madonna off the top of the charts and sold 140,000 units.

To mark the 20th anniversary of its release, we teamed Chico up with our client Zingo Bingo to celebrate the success of ‘It’s Chico Time’.
